About PDBA Program

The Philanthropy Doctor of Business Administration (PDBA) is a joint doctoral program created by CGPI and the Audencia Nantes School of Management. It is the first CGPI degree program that combines business management with philanthropy.

Curriculum Design

• The PDBA curriculum focuses on doctoral level courses and thesis development.
• Core courses include four modules of, 1) management research; 2) business strategy; 3)innovation and change; and 4) philanthropy.
• Thesis development involves six thesis research workshops and four thesis writing nodes.
• Practical courses and mobile classrooms will be interspersed at different course stages as elective courses.
• The course focuses on research methods and management discipline discussions. At the end of the first academic year, students must have developed their research plan. Their thesis must be completed and defended by the end of the third academic year.

Program Structure

• Three-year, part-time program
• Taught in Chinese. Some lectures are in English with simultaneous interpretation into Chinese
• Classes are held primarily in Beijing, Shenzhen and Nantes (France). Other China-based and overseas learning may also occur.
• Awarding a DBA degree

Admissions Criteria

Admissions Eligibility:

• Hold at minimum a master’s degree or have completed the CGPI EMP course
• Have at least 5 years of work experience in a position with significant organizational responsibility, including managerial positions
