On April 13, 2025, alumni from the inaugural Executive Leadership Program (ELP) of theInternational Philanthropy Institutegathered at the Shenzhen campus for a homecoming symposium. Chairman of the Board Ma Weihua and President Chen Hongshan joined 25 alumni representatives—both onsite and online—to reflect on the institute’sdecade-long development, exploreinnovative philanthropic education models, and strategize onalumni network empowermentandecosystemic collaboration.
Amidst the vibrant spring atmosphere, the campus buzzed with warmth. Chairman Ma Weihua, who holds leadership roles in multiple philanthropic organizations, emphasized: "A family feels complete when children return; a school glows brightest when alumni come home. Among all my students, those from this institute hold a special place." He highlighted the institute’s unique mission: "Philanthropic education is inherently challenging, yet over the past decade, successive presidents have laid a transformative foundation. Today, as the sector evolves beyond traditional donor-centric models, we must championcorporate social value creationand nurturesocially responsible entrepreneurs."
President Chen Hongshan outlined the institute’s strategic priorities: "Our alumni network—spanning industries and borders—is our greatest asset. Moving forward, we will deepen ourThree-Core Strategy: specialized curriculum, cross-sector influence, and global positioning, while fostering aco-created alumni ecosystem." She announced plans to leverage alumni expertise forcase-based teachingand position the institute as amilestone in China’s philanthropic history.
As a symbolic gesture, alumni receivedPhilanthropy E-School Course Vouchers—a "key to ignite intergenerational impact." These vouchers, designed to propagatemission-driven knowledge sharing, reflect the institute’s commitment to sustaining the sector’s "golden decade." From grassroots passion to professionalization and nowecosystemic integration, alumni have becomecapillaries permeating the socioeconomic fabric.
