SHENZHEN, December 21, 2024 – The 2024 Executive Philanthropy Management Program (EMP) Graduation and Opening Ceremony took place in Shenzhen today, celebrating the achievements of 111 graduating scholars while welcoming 35 new participants into the program. This year’s cohort expansion reflects a strategic shift in China’s philanthropic talent development, with a notable rise in enrollment from grassroots organizations—a trend signaling growing demand for professional training across the sector.
The event marked two historic milestones: EMP’s total alumni network now exceeds 1,000 professionals, and the program’s participant profile has evolved to encompass a broader spectrum of social impact practitioners. While EMP initially attracted senior leaders from established institutions, its current cohorts increasingly include emerging professionals from diverse philanthropic organizations and mission-driven individuals. This transformation highlights the sector’s accelerating professionalization and the need for systematic capacity-building at all organizational levels.
Today’s ceremony underscores a pivotal transition in China’s philanthropic ecosystem. As grassroots organizations drive localized social innovation, EMP’s role in cultivating both institutional leaders and frontline changemakers will be critical to sustaining sector-wide growth.
With its expanded enrollment strategy and focus on inclusive talent development, EMP continues to strengthen its position as a cornerstone for advancing professional standards in China’s rapidly maturing philanthropic field.
