On September 25, the graduation ceremony of EMP(Executive Management of Philanthropy)for the year 2023 was held in Shenzhen. A total of 180 people passed the graduation this year. As of now, the total number of alumni and the students at the CGPI has exceeded 6100, including more than 1500 alumni and the students in core teaching projects.
As China’s first specialized public welfare management education project, EMP has launched 17 batches and is about to welcome the 18th batch of new students. Students from all over the world come to the institute with the goal of improving the development of China's public welfare cause. In the past a few years, despite various difficulties such as the inability to carry out offline teaching activities and the pause of overseas practical courses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they persisted in learning, practised their public welfare knowledge in practice, constantly innovated public welfare projects to contribute to the process of promoting social progress.
After long term of practice, EMP students have gradually made names for themselves in various fields. The students from CGPI can be found at the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China Charity Awards, China Charity List, China Public Welfare Annual Conference, and various charity events. Some students were on the this year’s list of four categories of “Charity Role Models”, “Charity Projects and Trusts”, “Donating Enterprises”, and “Donating Individuals” under “China Charity Awards”.
Ma Weihua, chairman of the board CGPI, delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony. He hoped that students will take the concept of “sustainable development” as the basic principle for future public welfare practice and innovation and entrepreneurship. He added that the students should especially focus on the three social issues of “Addressing climate change, taking the path of green development”, “ESG promoting high-quality development”, and “Technology improving public welfare efficiency” in the future.
In his speech, Yan Jun, head of CGPI, said: despite a wealth of social problems, we should be fearless and have a dream in our mind. This is today’s theme and also the spirit of looking into our future. I hope that we can jointly participate in building a bridge for public welfare and charity exchanges between China and the world, continue to uphold the steady progress, work together, and unite into a force for promoting high-quality development of China’s public welfare and charity, bringing the Chinese story in the field of public welfare and charity to the world stage.
