From November 16 to 20, the "Advanced Seminar on Impact Investment and Rural Revitalization" of the GPL Global Good Finance Leadership Program of CGPI was held in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan.
With the theme of "Beyond Investment: Impact Investment and Rural Revitalization", this seminar reshapes GPL students' understanding of impact investment, and through in-depth study and exploration of cutting-edge theories and practical cases of impact investment to promote rural revitalization, so as to better realize the sustainable development path of combining commercial and social benefits.
Ma Weihua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CGPI and member of the Global Steering Committee on the Impact of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, said that China's development potential of impact investment should not be underestimated. In the future, China will become the largest impact investment market in the world.
The seminar was selected in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, not only because of its precious tropical rainforest ecology, rich diversity of animals and plants, and colorful ethnic minority culture, but also because it is a natural experimental field for practitioners to solve social problems to develop innovative solutions.
Here, GPL students went to the core villages in the tropical rainforest reserve to visit the rural revitalization complex project and learn to design the rural revitalization project scientifically. They Participated in the observation and scientific research on the behavior of wild elephants in the Asian Elephant Rescue and Breeding Center, and understood the difficulties and solutions faced by biodiversity conservation. They listened to the cutting-edge views and investment trends of impact investment experts, and further looked forward to the latest market trends. They went to the key migration villages of the Greater Mekong River system, and designed innovative schemes based on real village data to help water conservation and rural revitalization.
