Wang Zhenyao

Founding Dean of China Global Philanthropy Institute and dean of China Philanthropy Research Institute of Beijing Normal University, MPA of Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University, Doctor of laws of School of Government of Perking University, successively served as Deputy Director of Regime Construction Division of China Civil Affairs Department, Director of Disaster Rescue Department ad Director of Social Welfare and Philanthropy Promotion Department. In April, 2010, invited by Mr. Jet Li, initiator of One Foundation, Wang founded Beijing Normal University One Foundation Charity Research Institute together with Beijing Normal University. In December, 2011, it changed its name to Beijing Normal University China Philanthropy Research Institute; Wang Zhenyao has been dean until now.

Research Fields:

Wang Zhenyao’s research fields are mainly centered in public benefit and charity, social security policy and practice, emergency management and social assistance. He first advocated and vigorously promoted “civilian charity”, “promoting charity with charity management” and other theories, and modern charity and ten charity theories, and promotes public charity through the theory promotion of public popularity and idea innovation.

Main Achievements:

During working in China National Civil Affairs Department, Wang Zhenyao vigorously promoted the Chinese rural civilians election; promoted the establishment of national natural disaster emergency rescue four level response system; promoted the construction of minimum living standard guarantee system; promoted the establishment of national orphan guarantee system, established orphan raising standard and pushed the corresponding financial allowance system.
