On the afternoon of January 7, Professor Fu Jun, Academic Dean of the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development at Peking University, led a delegation of teachers and students to visit Shenzhen International Innovation Centre of China Global Philanthropy Institute, of which 64 students were government officials from 25 developing countries.
Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development at Peking University (hereinafter referred to as ISSCAD) was announced by President Xi Jinping when he attended and presided the United Nations Round Table on South-South Cooperation at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on September 26, 2015. Its main objective is to cultivate talents for governing and managing the country in developing countries. ISSCAD is not only a national advanced academic degree project, but also a think tank project for governing the country, international cooperation and exchange, and national policy research. It aims to summarize and share the successful experience of China and the developing countries, build a national development teaching and research system, and train high-end managerial and political personnel who are committed to national development and policy formulation combined with the actual situation of their own countries with comprehensive theoretical knowledge, international perspective and open scientific thinking, for China and the countries along "Belt and Road", Africa and other developing countries. It also promotes the realization of the good aspirations of developing countries for unity, cooperation and common development, and jointly the implementation of the goal of sustainable development in 2030.

This visit to Shenzhen is a compulsory course of "China's Social Practice Survey". It enables students from developing countries to have a thorough understanding of China's labor-intensive industries and traditional agriculture, capital-intensive industries and knowledge-intensive industries, and to investigate and survey the experience of China's economy at different stages of development.
