Wang Zhenyao is 65 years old this year. having been busy half of his life, he did not take the common way, but resigned from the ministry to seek new career when approaching 60 years old. He devotes himself the life after 56 years old to Chinese philanthropy.


Nine years ago in the summer of 2010, Wang Zhenyao, then director of the department of Social Welfare and Charity Promotion of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, resigned to become a professor at Beijing Normal University and became the focus of public opinion at that time. There may be different views and opinions after compare and weigh, but he chose his own path.

On November 12, 2015, jointly initiated by five Chinese and American philanthropists, Bill Gates, Ray Dalio, Niu Gensheng, He Qiaonv and Ye Qingjun,, and donated by their respective five foundations, China Global Philanthropy Institute was found. Professor Wang Zhenyao was invited as the President of China Global Philanthropy Institute.

He said, "My mission is to be a good stepping stone for Chinese Philanthropy, to make my due contribution to the progress of Chinese Philanthropy, and to the integration of Chinese nation into the global charity culture tide and to play a leading role."

One should live with the sense of mission! This is his thinking on public welfare, and it is also the eternal flame of public welfare passing from one generation to the next.
