Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is the biggest philanthropic foundation in the world assisted by Bill Gates and Melinda Gates couple. The foundation is based in Seattle, American state of Washington and founded through the merge of Gates Learning Foundation and William Gates Foundation. The foundation is jointly managed by CEO, Jeff Raikes and Co-chairman William H. Gates (Bill Gates’ father). The foundation now has about 27 billion dollars and it has to donate 5% of all its properties each year, which is more than 1 billion dollars.

On September 24, 2015, news published by Chinese State Internet Information Office said China Internet Development Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, both parties agreed to be partners based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit and advantages complement, according to the MOU, relying on internet and other new technologies, both parties would work together to promote the practical cooperation in philanthropy, public health, international development and other fields, improve the life quality of the impoverished people and promote the poverty reduction in developing countries.
